Might I suggest a couple of reference books that would be very handy, maybe include some items that can be linked to their pages...

Workshop practice Series...

# 23 ... 'Workshop Construction'... Jim Forrest & Peter Jennings.

#22 ... 'Workshop Electrics' ... Alex Weiss.

George.

On a more serious note, unless number 22 has been updated from its original 1994 publication I would suggest it too long in the teeth for today's use.

<Sings> Oh, come let us avoid them, Oh, come let us avoid them, Oh, come let us avoid them,...

Moving quickly on, "The Turn of the Screw", Henry James, not forgetting "The mills of God grind exceeding small", Longfellow, from Plutarch.

Geoff,

Would I be correct in assuming that your song ^^^ is a play upon "Oh, come let us adore Him ...", and thus a dig at me over my respose to Michael Walters ?

If so, then let me explain that I am not a Christian ... It's just that I was trying to discreetly suggest that Michael's post was taking things beyond what might seem appropriate for this forum.

[ There seemed no point 'reporting' it, because the whole risqué theme had been started by a Moderator ]

To get back to sense, it seems strange there have been no emails etc from MTM inviting us to pre-order this special.

I sure we will be promoting it, but we do need to make sure purchasers appreciate it is wholly aimed at beginners.

Michael G, Great Scott, No! I wasn't having 'dig' at anyone. I just thought the words fitted. That they were part of a hymn or carol was coincidental, I might have used another popular phrase or statement in other circumstances.

Readers' personal beliefs are not mine on which to pass comment. If I have offended you, I apologise.

At the risk of restating the painfully obvious, surely there needs to be advice on

"What are you planning to do?" " How much can you/want to spend?" followed by advice on what to buy, where to buy.

Finally how to mount, it and set it up. AND, possibly suggestions on what accessories could be made, as opposed to buying, either as part of the learning process, or to economise. Plus some advice on what NOT to do once the machinery arrives, if it appears to have a problem.

Followed by plugs for joining a local club, and reading threads on this Forum, (ALWAYS a lot to learn here)

Hi Neil,

Are the prices already known/set for these publications and can you share them here?

Thanks,
Ed

I think the UK cover price is £4.99, so in the US these days that's about fifty cents?

Hi Neil

Is this going to be available through PocketMags? I can't see it there yet.

Cheers
