Neil- the link to the ebay listing is in the first post. Last time I looked the pairs of holders were all sold but they also have a listing for sets of four. I was told they made a batch of them which are being sold at the moment but don't know whether they plan to make more.

I went to that link and just did again now, it shows no products for sale. Is it because I am viewing it from NZ ?

Thanks, Neil

Just clicked on the link - goes to the sale of 2 off toolholders. Shows as 3 remaining, 2 sold.

Try searching for products from

Yes Neil you are right, they seem to be selling fast, the sets of four are no longer listed but the pairs are back. I don't know how large the batch they made was, but if they sell well they will probably keep the supply going.

For whats its worth, i bought mine originally from A & R, and yes they where very good.

When i needed some extra holders and A & R had closed i got some direct from Myford and to be honest they where very well made.

anyhow..

When I got my original toolholders I got fed up with the mess the screws were making on the top of my homemade carbide insert tools, which were not hardened. I inserted brass pads into the ends of the screws and this made all the difference.

I was taught to use a packing strip on top of a tool bit to spread the load of the screws. With the T00 holders the screws are usually Allen type which are tough rather than hard but on larger sizes and with old style 4 way tool posts the screws were probably left pretty hard to minimise wear to the square head and mushroom effect on the tips. I do not like to see screw marks on boring bars or tip holders and it is little trouble to keep some strips to take the marks rather than the tooling. With solid HSS tools they do not mark easily but to spread the contact area is probably good on small bits to avoid the possibility of fracture.

Who sells the Dickson or a holder that fits the Myford Dickson QCTP in the vee holders and standard too holders.?An engineering outfit out here in NZ sells a copy , they are called Machinery house. Their copy from 2009 interchanges with the Dickson. Their latest stock does not however. Lucky they took back the holders and gave a full refund.

Still could not go to the Ebay website and get any holders.

As there was a winding up order made on 03/04/19 I don't think you'll have much success in trying to contact them.

That is a shame that Lynam Engineering are gone. I was lucky to get some toolholders back in 2017 from them and the quality was great. Should have really purchased more!

I wish I had the confidence and knowledge to make something like this myself.

Sad they have folded, being good engineers is not enough to keep a small business afloat but they often get taken down by big businesses who just don’t pay their bills.
