2 forum posts | Carry right on with what you are doing. I did and completed mine in 1971 (to its present state). I have run it, and run it, and run it. I shopped it in 1989 and saw parts that I don't even remember making. But there they were and I know no one else had a hand in it. What you learn is what kind of coal works and what doesn't and how to fire with 5 kids asking continuous questions. How to drive looking at the fire, the track ahead, and the pressure gauge while carrying on a conversation over your shoulder. Boiler making will teach you how much heat makes your eyes water and spelter still doesn't melt and go where you need it! Some of it was a very hard learn, but I wouldn't have missed it. 842 forum posts 56 photos | Hi PDBV - I copied-n-pasted the URLs and went to your photobucket site. Good work! My little Tich is my favourite locomotive, maybe because I started it as a teenager, maybe because it's a challenge to drive, maybe because it attracts attention. But whatever the reason, it's one that I'd make another one of, given time. (I've a few projects in the queue, but they *are* getting done...) |

![]() 7468 forum posts 230 photos | Go to the top of the page and open an album, then it's simple to bring the photos to your thread, just follow the instructions, and reduce the size, mine reduce to 640 x 427, I'll admit that when I started it took 2 or 3 hours to work out how to do it. Ian S C |
