Hi Ryan,

What you have described makes perfect sence,

I just wasnt sure if the copper would buckle even when annealed

Thanks for your help

Your progress is brilliant, i have just recieved my 7BA taps (for the steam chest) in the post this morning now im ready to make the top caps and they will soon be done

All the best

Peter

Hi Ryan,

Cant help with the driving truck unfortunately,

I do have another question though, when forming the flanges on the outer skin of the bulk head (not sure of its propper name) for the boiler do they have to be spliced so that they bend round the 90 degree?

I hope you understand what im on about, i think i do but only just haha, i can visualise what i mean but cant turn it into words haha

Thanks

Pete

Hi larry,

Im no where near that stage yet ive only just finished making the frames

Picture to follow shortly
08/01/2015 19:41:13
Well i finally started work on little tich, ive made one complete buffer beam and i have made a second one but that needs the brackets making and fitting, i forgot to take pictures will get some at a later date, doing the riviting was fun, i had to use a drill bit to countersink the holes as i dont have a countersink small enough to fit the holes, they are a bit bigger than i would have liked but look fine
30/12/2014 22:37:16
Yeah i noticed my mistake with the axle boxes and today have amended it thanks

Pete

Hi David,

The info and diagrams/simulations in that link are a great help, i will probably spend hours watching those now

With regards to the comments people have made about Tich, i see it as somewhere to start and also somewhere to start learning, if something is wrong with it its easy and cheap enough to throw away and amend it, im not after a top notch loco at the moment, im after something that will teach me and wont break the bank if i make mistakes

thanks for your link

Pete
