Thread: Wiring 4QD controller for 4 motors.
26/07/2023 11:26:26

The controller will drive multiple motors as long as you don't exceed the current rating (As stated in previous posts). Maxitrak drive multiple motors from 4QD controllers .... The manual only shows 1 motor for simplicity.

Here is the wiring for a 2-Bogie loco (Each with 2 motors) - So 4 motors in Parallel

Please ensure that you wire the motors so they all rotate in the same direction. (You may need 1 running forward and 1 running in Reverse on each bogie if 1 drives on the left and 1 on the right!)

Take a look at the 4QD site ...

This shows 4 Motor wiring in regards to supression - Link

and comparing Serial/Parallel - Link

Ride-on-Railways put all 4 motors in parallel [As 2 pairs .. so 4 wires to controller]

Why don't you get a non-isp specific email address i.e. gmail, hotmail etc and use that for the forums etc, then you can change your isp as many times as you like without having to register a new address everytime.

Thread: Another EVRI calamity.

Sorry Ive not read every page I,m loosing the will to live frown Ive been left a EVRi 'sorry I missed you' card, it say's parcel left in green bin checked and nothing in the green bin so Ive tried to contact them both by phone or with there app and in each case I'm told my tracking number not reconised ! Without the tracking number it would seem you cant get to talk to anyone so does anyone have a number for these bunch of 'paul ankers'

H

Hi,

I would contact the sender of the parcel, they should have the tracking number. If you have not received the goods the seller needs to contact Evri as the contract is between the seller and Evri.

A lot of rural area's do not have street names let alone house numbers. (These have NEVER been given a number)

How does that work then with all houses on a main road having names? I did think that everywhere had a number attached. The postcode narrows it down to about 10 houses on my road but i would hate to be a new driver finding a house without a number ..

.

Hence my suggestion, previously, of using what3words

DPD have our "What3Words" (Along with Map Position and Detailed Directions) for our rural address, but they still repeatly fail to get to us!

(We just have a House Name (No Number or Street Name)

Thread: vat on parcels
14/12/2022 10:26:06

If you purchase from eBay (or Amazon UK) now and it is shipped from the EU or China/India VAT is included (Added when you check out) ... You can see the VAT if you look at the invoice.

Also India/China seen to declare a low price i.e. <10$ so it comes under the threshold for VAT/Duty.

I have always had to pay VAT/Duty for items from USA/Canada when it is over the limit. (Excluding Books)

Thread: Carriage of Dangerous Goods

I don't get this thread. Dave W knows there are rules about posting hazardous substances. Nevertheless, he orders such product, and then is not happy that it is delivered . Cakeism? Merry Xmas

The point Dave is making is that the goods were sent with NO WARNING LABEL on the parcel indicating their contents.

I have received hazardous substances in the past and they had a Hazardous warning label indicating the contents. Some carriers will carry these goods for a increased cost. (Others won't)

Now NATIONWIDE BS won't accept me to switch accounts as our official address does not have a road name and hence no house number - although in the past, they sent me statements, Notices of AGMs etc by post.

Its been a bad day!

Bob

I have the same problem with some banks/companies…..

Our postal address according to Royal Mail is - House Name, Village, Town, Post Code. (Which is correct)

So I enter the House name as the House Name, then under Street I enter the Village name, then under Town/City the Town name ….. This usually works where you have to enter a Street

I have not received the last three ME magazines. I do view the digital version but prefer hard copy..

Is this just a glitch from the ownership transfer or another reason.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

Where about in the world are you located? (Could be delivery issues if international)

At the moment you can only pay for the “Digital” or “Print & Digital” subscriptions with a Credit/Debit card or Paypal, are there any plans to add the same Direct Debit options that the “Print” subscription has?
