Yesterday afternoon partway through a difficult job realised that I was going to need some cobalt drills to get holes through the material I was using, went on the internet and placed an order with Rennie Tool Company for a pack of ten 4mm Cobalt drills, the time was 3.40 and their website stated orders placed before 3pm would be despatched the same day. I realised that I had missed the deadline so would probably have to wait two or three days for them to arrive. Lo and behold lunchtime today they arrived having been posted yesterday in Stockport using Royal Mail tracked 24 delivery, that was excellent service, I have no connection with Rennie tools but their service was first class. I've bought a number of solid carbide end mills from Rennie Tools and they've always dispatched swiftly and Royal Mail delivery has been fast, too. I'm very pleased with the quality of their cutters, mostly 2, 3 and 4 flutes.

I ordered goods from Tracytools around 10.pm last Thursday, arrived Monday lunchtime this week, by Royal mail.

Not wishing to detract from from our suppliers or their choice of couriers, but I do wonder if a good combination of time of day, which day of the week and their location combined with their customers location, leads to a quicker delivery.

In the above example, Tracytools would have found my order awaiting them as soon as they started work on Friday morning so could extract items from storage, pack ready for RM to collect same day. Probably on the truck from Devon overnight to Gatwick sorting office. Early Monday morning in Brighton sorting office then out for last leg of delivery to me in BN1 - central area.

Royal Mail will be affected by strike action on the 8th 9th of September and the 30th and 1st October so be prepared for some delay and possible backlog to clear.

Bought lots of milling cutters from Rennie tools, always great customer service.

Been using their single flute carbide end mills recently on my KX1 cnc on aluminium, surprised me how nicely it rips through it. Tempted to try their DLC carbide single flute.
