Before investing a lot of time and expensive materials into making it, why not model it out of tin cans first. I am not suggesting making steam, just make the firebox/tube and flue and cool it with running water.

Ah yes the ubiquitous safety sandals, the lack of PE makes me cringe. I saw one recently where a guy was welding and had a helper standing next to him, it brought back a painful memory. When I was young I did a holiday job in a small fabrication shop. Part of the job was to weld nuts on the ends of studs. I was the nut fitter and the welder was to my right. Woke up the next morning with sunburn on the right side of my face and arc eye. Looked like Richard Dreyfuss in Close Encounters but worse.

I think the great thing about these videos is that they show clearly how things are done using basic tools.

You will have to find how to get the compiler linker to use the correct DLL

You could also look at using PowerShell which does support wildcard expansion.

A backstop does not need to be accurately set, it just has to be accurately repeatable. Once the collet holder is in the spindle, backstop set and tightened down, it won't move.

To get an accurate length, face off the pice slightly longer than needed, then remove and measure the length. Now you know how much more to move the tool to get the length you need. Now every piece can be made to that length.

A small change to your design could be useful. If you drill and tap the M10 all the way through you would make it easier to tap and you can then screw the studding in to act as a back stop.

A backstop is not much use for cutters but would be very useful if you are trying to make small parts to repeatable length.

I was educated after slide rules and before calculators so it was all meant to be done the hard way. I was taught about log tables and used those, plus my brother being that much older was taught and had a slide rule. He didn't need it so it became mine and I found out it was not against the rules to use one. I was the only one to use a slide rule in my entire year.

I can still remember buying my first calculator at Uni, still have it too.

Try drawing a circle at the centre of the line

Try Borax Substitute (sodium sesquicarbonate), mix it to a paste with water, rub it in and leave a while. Not as good as Sodium Hydroxide, but a lot safer.

I had a problem with a sticky yellow stain from cooking oil on my plastic mixer bowl, it was removed in minutes. It also removes the sticky yellow that builds up around the cooker.

Just remember you will need to make the cupboard air and moisture tight. So plastic lined and seals on the door.

Does your ram have guide rings? are they worn? if they are it increases the gap on one side which makes extrusion worse.

I was looking through the OFGEM graphs and there is a graph giving a breakdown of how the cap is calculated. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/energy-data-and-research/data-portal/all-available-charts

What surprised me is that this year there was a 38% rise in Network costs, £268 to £371. Network costs are the allowance for the distribution, but why after being stable for years did it need to rise so much this year?

The cap rose by £730 but the Network Costs rose by £103, so 14% of the rise has nothing to do with wholesale costs!

If you have a slow running motor you could try tumbling them with an abrasive. Or try electrolysis in brine, but be careful as Chlorine and Hydrogen will be released.

They really do not like heat and overheat easily. It is all down to the light fitting, plenty of ventilation is needed.

Also, to make things worse the cheaper or extra brightness ones drive the LEDs hard which shorten their life.
