I prefer Jason's picture to Andy Warhol, who made a lot of money from this tin can:

Cream of Mushroom used to be my favourite, until they cheapend the recipe and ruined it.

Dave.

MoI will run unde Wine if that is of any help. You may have to fiddle a little bit, but it sounds as if you could get around that.

Not too bad to do in MoI.

How about a quick computer mouse in MoI? wink

Another variation in MoI - sorry for dawdling part-way through, I had a slight distraction. blush

Similar to other examples, except I used the Inset feature as another way to make the ends.

Well, I did try - but it seems the Fusion Faction have won another convert!

It seems so. I never felt comfortable with Fusion 360 despite its many features, so I settled on MoI for my CAD and am happy with its workflow. It's quite easy to use and its simple interface is nonetheless very well featured.

I did it in CAD by using the Mirror tool.

I'm not keen on showing diameters with the diagonal lines at all sorts of angles, I prefer to select "linear" dimensions for diameters which puts them as shown.

Does the program not allow you to space the elevations further apart? Alibre does and I can also alter text and arrow size and style.

I am glad someone else prefers this method.

I have always used diameter rather than radius.

Using a radius causes you to have to have a calculator during a build, and is prone to error.

Using a diameter also gives you am immediate reference, for comparison with other parts/dimensison.

Diameter is the only way to fly in my opinion.

I think a radius is used to dimension arcs, rather than circles.

Reduce text & arrow size. See if your CAD will dispense with the arrows on the other side of circles.

It depends on the application, but some of these modern-day mastics/adhesives are super strong.

https://inverterdrive.com/

I have since found a drive on there that would supply the original dc brushless motor that the lathe came with (but where's the fun in making things easy!!)

Drew.

Is there any chance you could show the link for this drive? I've looked on their website, but couldn't identify anything I thought suitable.

This might be handy in the future, if I install another Brushless motor.

Martin.

Hi Martin

Link to drive

https://inverterdrive.com/group/AC-Inverter-Drives-230V/Invertek-Optidrive-E3-750W-1ph-3ph-IP20/

Thanks Drew.

I'll download the manual and study its features.

Thread: Help needed to lift bandsaw curse.

It may have been mentioned already, but new blades should be 'conditioned' before normal use. Conditioning slightly removes the sharpness of the teeth and lets the new blade 'bed in' without damage.

All you need to do is take 3 or 4 cuts through some large diameter mild steel bar whilst keeping a light load on the blade. The large diameter stock helps to spread the load amongst the many teeth in contact, thus restricting damage/chipping of the blade.

The various patterns you see are normal and what I get with my lovely Nebes bandsaw too.

I was never a fan of French cars and in particular, Citroen.

Not long ago and for some reason unknown to me, a suggestion appeared in YouTube about a Citroen DS21.

I clicked the link and it reminded me that the French have had better times. wink

If I had the money and wanted a classic car, then I think I'd go for something like this:

(Sorry about the distraction)

Martin.
