I saw (no pun intended) a Femi video some time ago showing the "NG" reverse blade saw cutting faster than the standard version. The demo used the same fixed weight hung from the handle to load each type of saw.

I don't think the cut is faster per se, just faster for a given force applied by the operator.

The Femi NG120XL cuts against the moveable vice jaw, not what you would expect. The makers claim the reverse blade direction cuts 60% faster. I bought mine for a commercial project that justified the purchase.

If the 1481/1 is the same mix as the 1481 but less one gear, you would be able to use either set with the above chart.

A motor rated MCB will not provide much in the way of motor overload protection.

I understand Dave and Pete's thoughts, but looking at the overload, I don't think phase current inbalance was on the agenda when it was manufactured!

I can't see how it is adjusted from the images, I would be asking myself what has changed.

Hello Jerry, the speed selection sets the internal frequency reference for the drive, it does not make the drive run. To make the drive run you energise the forward terminal and de-energise it to stop it. You shouldn't need to change the feed to SPH or SPL to stop it. I don't have a Huanyang drive to verify that, I'm just going off the drive manual. Happy that you have a working solution, Michael.

Hello Jerry, to set up the VFD for two speed operation set PD080 to 2 (multispeed operation) that will bring the multispeed terminals into operation. The speed is then selected by terminals 5 and 6, you only need to use terminal 5 for two speed operation. If you connect it to common the drive speed will be set by PD086, with no connection to common the speed will be set by PD003.

The engine of the blower increases the kinetic energy of the intake air so the air output has more energy than the air input.

The umbrella is a distraction, the force of the air output from the blower pushes against it providing thrust. He would be better off ditching the umbrella and just pointing the blower to the rear leaving a spare hand to watch rubbish on the internet.

John, in which case Pn03 = 1 may be invalid for your drive. I have been looking at a manual for a drive (on the web) that has a small knob (potentiometer) on the front, pages 11 and 12 of that manual are exactly the same as pages 11 and 12 in your manual.

Hello John, is Pn03 = 1, frequency reference from the pot on the front of the drive. Have you checked to see if there is a voltage present on the 5V IN terminal when you are trying Pn03 = 3 ?

Edit - The digital inputs are switched to COM to energise them as you have seen on YouTube.

A plastic or any other lining could cause problems if moisture got trapped between the liner and the steel deck.

I have had a Hayter mower with a cast alloy deck for over 25 years or so and still it's going strong. I was warned by a friend with a similar machine that contact with lawn fertiliser can rot the alloy deck, something to avoid....

I agree with SOD's reply, I have had this happen to me on older stuff. I would try pushing from side to side again and leave it at that. I have dismantled one or two displays like that, unfortunately never got one back together with any success. Michael

My Proxxon IB/E is about 15 years old, well built and runs true, head and shoulders better than any rotary tool I have seen from Dremel.

Britool aren’t as good as they used to be. I rate Stahlwille, Elora and Gedore but I haven’t bought any for some time so I don’t know how good they are today.

I purchased my magnetic scales from Mdro about 6 years ago. The stainless steel strip was not self adhesive, the alloy section was supplied with a round rubber seal similar to o ring material. The final part of installation was to fit the stainless strip and seal it top and bottom with the rubber insert, I finished the assembly by sealing the ends of the scale with silicone.

So that’s why ARC have disappeared, understandable from my point of view. If my company advertised on a forum that relied on my revenue for funding while supporting references to back door suppliers I would do the same.

Same as Jason, mine came from a uk supplier with a moulded 3 pin plug fitted, just checked and as you would expect the metalwork is earthed.

Hello John, the VFD on board 24 vdc supply normally used to energise digital inputs is rated at 100ma. I would use it with a 78L10 voltage requlator to get the required 10 vdc supply. Regards, Michael

I have the same opinion as John MC, using magnets can magnetise tools, then swarf sticks to them.
