Thread: What Did you do Today 2022 |

My wife and I both had the Moderna and flue vacines a fortnight ago with no after affects other than feeling where the injections were. Previous Moderna made us a bit shaky for a day. Ian |

Thread: Myfor ML7 main spindle replacement |
30/09/2022 18:04:29 |
Mention was made earlier of using vee blocks to support a spindle for straightening under a press. Might be prudent to make sure they are not cast iron as they have been known to split by such use. Ian |

Thread: Arceurotrade toolpost |

Arc also do a video of fitting to a Myford. Making your own stud should not be a problem . I have used both the 4way tool post and arc tool posts and I would not go back to the 4way with its tools poking out to cut you, finding bits of tin to cut up etc. Having to reset when the tool is reground, but everyone to his own. |

Unfortunately my wife and I will not be going, the cost from Northumberland plus entry, overnight, meals etc would be around £250-00. I can get a lot of materials and tools for that kind of money from my pension. |

My wife and I we’re going to attend the Midlands show and had booked an overnight stay , but have cancelled as the cost from Northumberland has risen to more than our pensions allow. I suspect that we will not be alone in this unfortunately. |

I use my common sense and not write long pieces of waffle. Ian |

Just for the record I use a pressure reducer and dust with a gentle force, not a blast. If there is no such thing as common sense, what would you call not putting your hand into a moving cutter? Ian |
01/02/2022 11:24:40 |
Hi Alan I suspect that you are referring to my recent post in the compressor thread referring to blowing down my bench. Yes it can be a dangerous process if used without precautions and common sense, but used properly it is no more dangerous than any other workshop tool. Ian |
Thread: air compressors |

I have the Hyundai compressor and find it very good for my needs. It is very quiet which was a major plus for me, my older compressor would awaken the dead. I only use it for blowing down benches and running my models, I have no need for air tools these days as I no longer want to spray cars or nail lots of timber. As a small quiet compressor I can recommend it. Ian |
