Well, as a Southern African, and a Namibian, I thought Britain, or rather, Great Britain, is actually an Island and contains three Countries..England, Wales and Northern Ireland - But what do I know, being from the deep South.. Joe

Thread: PocketMags - Unable to Read MEW 263 |
13/01/2018 22:34:39 |
I had an email from pocketmags last night about 9pm advising of it being fixed yet could not access it.
As always I've made a point of emailing Pocketmags as well as the lovely Kate Hall & Neil, that way they are aware its continuing.
Its time we went to PDF long over due. The high cost of downloading as well as the overseas cost is not value for $$$ being Australia exchange rate is almost 3 times UK price. The fact recently an app change meant all previous downloads were NOT accessible and we had to re download our library!!
There are far greater magazines world wide who do use PDF.
Being concerned these days of pirate copies pffft its quicker to buy hard copies scan and sell them on ebay it seems. Asian hackers and such as Pintrest and Google seem to access far more than we can and we are paying for it ![]() |

RRFLMAO Aussie manufacturing?? Ford always a USA product with parts made all over the world. Holden also known in other countries as Opal, Chevy GM still used parts made all around the world much like every other manufacturer. Is all about the mighty $$$$$ both Ford and Holden as well as Mitsubishi & Toyota had billions of tax dollars handed over only to see excecs and CEO's profit more. During the late 60's Millions was given to R&D fuel saving to the big two to compete with the likes of BMC's 40mpg nothing ever became of it. Oh sorry they Unions and Government of the day got rid of BMC. Ok so the failed P76 didn't help matters. |

So I wasn't the only one who had problems Jason No direct debit from Australia anyway isn't available the reason I have been told elsewhere is the exchange rate. Mind you it would be far batter if we all had the same currency, got the same pay rate, paid the same for subscriptions too. |

Finally bit the bullet on Sunday evening and coughed up £98 for 500mm of 130mm dia EN3 black, 500mm of 25x100mm EN3 bright and 500mm of 30x70mm EN3 bright from Jenkins Steel online. About half the cost was steel, the rest was Parcelfarce 24h. The main issue dawned on me only after I had received it. My generic 4x6 bandsaw has only got a capacity of 110mm or so in round stock and I'm buggered if I'm about to use a hacksaw to chop a bit off. And even if I were man enough to part this off in the lathe (I doubt it), it's not something I'd want to be making a habit of. Perhaps another time after a few beers... Time taken 36 minutes - the last operation was only 3-4 mins after rotating it about 60 degrees. This hacksaw is an old dog (only cost $100 Canadian / £60) but it has its moments! Murray
Murray I gather this will be taken to the lathe? Why not use the 6x4 vertical mode table using a fence set up.
