19/08/2012 20:19:56 | |||
hi thanks for all the online help , having a re-think this weekend over a beer or two i have changed to 6 BA and went well as i have plenty of them and Allan keys. I went for 8 ba because it was at fist hand in my screw tray i did not realise how small the Allan key was until i drilled and tapped it so i have about 20 grub screws going thanks again Kevin

hi all you can do anything with this type of aluminium extrusion if you want to be creative you can get all types of aluminium extrusion from Flex link i am having a go at using it for a cutter grinder using the 40 x 40 mm section. i am lucky as i have a contact at my old work place so i can get hold of small off cuts TY Kevin

Thread: M2.5 x 8 mm Insert Torx Screws
21/07/2012 08:32:55 | |||
Hi, a modification question I have broken a 2.5mm insert screw I had to drill it out in a DCMT 11T304 tip, as hole in the tip will take a 3mm standard screw has anyone modified tip holders to 3mm screw. as 3mm is easy to get and use a standard Allan key I can get one from RS components £1.25 each "outrages" cost for 1 off , or from china on eBay 10 off for £5.09 for + shipping. thanks Kevin

hi all if you look on eBay just search for " digital depth gauge " and it depends what you want to pay, from .99p upwards and what you want it for. ty Kevin As David said in his opening post "a quality metal probe one, not a cheap plastic tyre tread gauge."
If you want to work to the "accuracy" of a cheap tyre gauge fair enough but I prefer to do more accurate work J i did say .99p upwards and what you want it for this leaves it wide open and what people can afford. kb |
