The die is mounted in a die holder in the tail stock.

plan of attack is,

clean with acetone

open die fully

use aluminium block

plenty of Rocol

I'll try the collet

I'm trying to cut a 5BA thread on 1/8" stainless steel rod held in the 3jaw lathe chuck. The die starts to cut then the rod slips in the chuck marking the rod. Would I be better off using a 1/8 c0llet chuck.

Looking at the spokes being milled took me back to my apprenticeship and milling steel samples ready for tensile testing. It was the dread of every apprentice.

Just need a few more pennies

If you are unsure of your silver soldering capabilities why not buy a cheap Mamod system from flea bay or your local auction house. Don't forget to pressure test the boiler though.

On the Stuart beam engine how deep does the recess on the top of the column need to be to take the entablature arms.

When the alibre forum started I saw a link that took you to a 200 odd page instruction of drawing two flywheels connected by a universal joint. I can't find the link, can someone point me in the right direction.

Just bought MEW to get the Alibre Atom only to find it doesn't run on a mac. Bummer, any chance of a refund.

100 mm flywheel, not bad for a conquest super (now superior) with an 80 mm chuck.

All that's left to do is to get it running.
