Another of my subscriptions comes sealed (well and truly!) in a paper envelope, but it's always (every month) glued to the inside of the envelope! Grrrr! I think that adhesion is the way the paper picks up the mag before the envelope is folded over. |

I find all modern printing inks are horrible. I have to leave the copies for a while or else I just start coughing. I am also allergic to newsprint as well as what the Journalist write! |

+1 for ABBCO, excellent service and quality. I used to stop by every year on the way to Harrogate Show, They even recovered a cherished long cutter which had met an unfortunate end (on someone else's mill)! www.abbcotooling.co.uk Edited By KWIL on 13/05/2022 17:20:01 |

I am thinking of doing away with the R8 location pin in the drill mill, and making that a captive drawbar also, an excuse to fit some SKF taper roller bearings and mill some spanner flats near the bottom end of the spindle. Location pin is not that important, I have run my R8 without one quite satisfactorily. |

I made an air driven drawbar, spindle does not need to be locked as "inertia" holds it enough for the drabar to tighten or release. 'Twas important to fit this as reaching the top with a spanner is stretching it a bit! |

My subscriptions have continued during the changeover WITHOUT fail, so why do some appear to have a problem? Incidently my other subscriptions with Mortons have always been prompt. |

There are NO taper roller bearings on a Myford S7 ! It has 2 angular contact ball races on the rear end of the spindle (mandrel). Like so many things in the past, adjustment was by feel not measurement, that's why there are no figures given for setting the headstock bearings. IF it gets hot it's to tight ! Good luck Noel. This is of course correct for production standard S7s, however a number of users have fitted taper roller bearings to good effect which should give a more rigid bearing set up. After point 7 above (hand tighten collar using the hex key as a lever) Do not forget to then tighten the Allen screw to secure the collar in place. All quite straight forward as decribed. |

I fear that 100Mt delivered one at a time would be more effective. I have Aldershot to the east and Aldermaston to the west, there is not much I can do about it, inspite of having been Civil Defence trained. |

Thread OD 4.4mm dia thread, 0.8mm pitch (using pitch guage) Hex on spout 6mm A/F Would you care to speculate whether the tube has enough thickness of body to enable its internal thread to be enlarged to M5? The male thread on the nozzle would be easy to enlarge. The brass tube is 6mm OD. If I was going to tap M5, I would certainly use a Spiral Flute tap because the swarf would cut and clear more easily. More simply make a suitable length brass rod extender, bored through at say 2mm for the oilway and counter bored each end 6mm, soft/hard solder in place. |

John, Re EMI quote. The wind must have been blowing very hard, that's a distance of at least 200+ M, even if the source was on top floor and the record press plant was at ground level two roads away. |
