Thanks Neil, now updated.

I filled my profile in. Trouble is it is out of date and I can't see how to change it. Any ideas welcome. It says I am editor of Model Engineers Workshop. correct at time of writing it but incorrect now.

The Mitutoyo are very good. I can't ever remember a battery going flat in one while you have to keep changing batteries in the cheap ones.

If you don't get a reply soon, I might be able to dig out the drawings. I think some of them are marked up with the wrong scale.

Get the book freedom is more than a seven letter word by Veronica Chapman. You could do him personally for wronging you. You could easily get say, £100,000 as you can decide what compensation he has to pay out of his personal pocket. Nothing to do with his legal companies but for the stress he has caused you. Cost you less than £10 on Amazon. Money well spent for lots of financial problems.

Thread: Where to Buy ?
22/10/2015 08:48:04

I would look for a good second hand one from a bereavement sale or similar. Probably half the price of a dealer one. They are about because where else do the dealers get them?

If it is wages can you get the DHSS or job centre to intervene?

Is it a limited company?

Salvage squad is on Quest at 3am on Thursday. The team restore a narrow gauge locomotive. I think it is a world war 1 tin turtle.

Thread: Clarkson Autolock vs ER collets
19/10/2015 13:51:51

We had imperial and metric collets for Clarksons. The metric has a ring around the upper part outer diameter. The shank sizes of cutters were either imperial or metric but the thread was the same pitch but different diameter.

Thread: ER25 collet chucks that fit a myford spindle nose

Best bet is to make or use a chuck backplate and turn register to fit the backplate. If you use a larger backplate you could add holes in the diameter to take a tightening rod.

Thread: ARC - PayPal and Credit Cards
18/10/2015 18:07:17

Hi there It is easy for customers to rip you off with paypal. I have lost several hundred pounds when the buyers filed a fraudulent transaction claim and I also had chargeback claims.

I don't like using debit/credit cards to pay online as I don't think they are very safe. I do use them for ArcEuroTrade and similar UK companies I know and trust. However, I don't think they are safe. We enter our card details online including the three digit security number. How does the security number make the card safe when we have to give the security number to suppliers?

I did hear of a sales rep who took a card payment and used the details for online gambling. I won't embarrass the company he worked for by mentioning them.

The best book by far is the Workshop practice book on screw cutting by Martin Cleeve
