If many more people move here we'd better start thinking about our own model show. Sounds like a good idea to me! |

Found out today everything has gone through on a new house. Looks like I'm moving to Cambridgeshire. The wife's excited about planning the new rooms etc. I've given her carte Blanche on condition that I can do whatever I want with the garage which is approx 1.5 times the size of a normal uk single garage.....New workshop here I come. |

Could do with a spare set of hands and some pointers installing DRO. I'm in Ware, East Hertfordshire. |

Shame your not in Hertfordshire there's a good course I'm currently undertaking, I started with watching copious you tube videos before purchasing a lathe then getting confidence up at the course and asking questions here Edited By Curtis Rutter on 12/04/2017 08:48:03 |

Posted by ega on 11/04/2017 22:41:17: Perhaps it is worth again mentioning Lawrence Sparey's Myford spindle locking spanner (my brief article about my own version of this is behind the clock on the editor's mantlepiece). Have sent you a message Thanks for all the tips, also looking at a spindle locking handle, would come in handy for tapping and threading

having now acquired a independent 4 jaw chuck, Im somewhat perplexed on how to remove the current 3 jaw chuck from my Myford ML7. There's lots of hints on removing a stuck 3 jaw chuck but nowhere can I find the "official" way to remove it under normal circumstances, i.e. Where it's not stuck on and the manual hasn't shed any light. |

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but mine is an original 1960's ML7 that's not had any work and it's grey. |

TBH it's due to the unions getting involved and having our job role re-banded (NHS employee) which has been debated for years! Like most employees in the NHS at times you feel like just another number or bum on seat to make figures look good |

The next project I'm looking at making requires letters to be put onto rings. I was thinking of punching these but wondered if anyone had any better ideas as the rings that would need punching are going to be a bit on the thin side |
