Thread: Music on TV Programmes.
04/11/2021 13:18:12

Music on TV programmes, by which I don't mean music programmes!

Is anyone else as fed up as I am with the non-stop overpowering music on TV programmes?

I enjoy Portillo on his British rail journeys and also the Repair shop but the music drives me mad.

Surely someone could invent a device that allows the dialogue but removes the background noise?

Thread: Is it best to buy M/C or sub out?
17/10/2021 11:58:44

I'm beginning to get more and more interested in CNC machining of metals and wondered if anyone has opinions as to buying a low cost machine or using Fusion 360 to produce the CNC program and then sending it to a company with the equipment to produce the item.

Hi Rodney and welcome to the forum. I don't think the forum allows people in if they have a tidy workshop!

So, what sort of model engineering are you interested in? perhaps a marine triple expansion engine?

Thread: What taper does this mill use
06/10/2021 12:43:16

Old British machines, including Herberts, used a taper that was known as NS(for Non Stick) 1 3/8". Unless yours has already had a remade or modified spindle.

Perhaps it is just a matter of terminology, but we do not have NHS Covid Passports in England. So I guess the question I should ask is really what form were you filling in and why?

There was talk of covid passports for overseas travel and I have two Dutch holidays booked for next year.

I cannot show the form because I reported it and then deleted it.

I was nearly taken in by the above scam which looks absolutely genuine.

I filled in the on-line form but became suspicious when it requested bank and credit card details 'to confirm identity'.

I have reported this to the NHS

Hello John, the best thing that you can do with photos is to create an album for each subject.

Albums can be found in thegreen and black banners at the top of this page. Don't quote me but I think that the green banner is for personal albums and the black one will show you ather members albums.

Hello John and welcome.

It's a good idea to join a model engineering society, especially where steam and boiler construction and testing are concerned.

This is a page from the Northern Society for clubs that will be near to you;
