PayPal charge nothing for a "Gift" transfer and about 4% otherwise.

Goldfinches seem resident here as they are about all year long. Apart from all the usual visitors we are getting a few blackcaps and jays the last week or so.

I use one each day and have done so for the last 60 years. In between I've tried all methods but old fashioned suits me best

I have a small and quite ancient orchard with the usual modern varieties of apple, plum and pear but there are also still a few very old trees that fruit quite well. Nobody has really been able to identify them although there's been plenty of guesses.

PS Clive, how big is a baseball?

I prefer well sharpened HSS tooling for aluminium - particularly for a finishing cut.

Plenty of new laptops available with Linux (Ubuntu usually) installed.

You'll need a circuit diagram and components list to have any chance of replicating the manufacturer’s PSU. Sourcing the parts would also be a problem.

Check out eBay listing 191106082551 it may be suitable.

I've done this on several occasions simply by putting one bit in the freezer for an hour and then warming the other up a bit with a gas blow lamp.

I had this just the other day.

I wasn't busy so played him along for ages until he was getting quite exasperated with my apparent incompetence.

It was only then I let on I use Linux.

Agree with Keith - looks the same as the one on my 9x20 Chinese lathe.

No problem here - using Linux/Firefox

I have an ancient Burgess Mk1 band saw (the one with a very slow speed) fitted with a bi-metal blade from Tuffsaws. It slices through 50mm aluminium bar in in a couple of minutes, brass and ms round bar takes longer but it will do it. As a bonus it will also cut fancy shapes in sheet material.

Can't remember what I paid for the BS from a car-boot, a tenner I think, and the bi-metal blade cost about sixteen quid. Done loads of work with it and still going strong. Rarely used a hacksaw since I set it up.

Really? Virgin's is a joke are others better?

Which is why I have 9x20 .. sort of middle sized.

I've used Thunderbird for many years without any sort of problem. It consolidates mail from several different POP and imap e-mail accounts. I don't use a Windows OS, maybe that's why I have no problems?

Hi Dennis,

My old Burgess has been working happily for a couple of years sawing metal. So far no problems with the wheel rubbers, the blade has never come off and the accuracy cutting shapes is fine providing one works within the limits of the blade size. The bi-metal blades last a long time. Obviously I'm not cutting large sections but it does okay for me.

I have an old Burgess BK3 that only has one speed of about 300 feet per minute. I fitted a Tuffsaws bimetal blade and it cuts metals (bms,brass,aluminium etc.) very well if a bit slowly.
