How strange. I've not had this problem and get quite a lot of stuff from China. In fact several packages in the last week or two have actually arrive quicker than expected.

I use 120 grit - gives a reasonable finish. You'll have to navigate to the page for your size.

Been using Linux of one distro or another for many years. Settled on Ubuntu the last few years and don't think I'll change again. Although I do have Windows 7 on a partition on one computer I never use it.

Silver soldering will be the best but electro conductive glue is available.

With a little ingenuity you should be able to clamp the wheel at a angle on your pillar drill table.

That's good, they don't all.

I had a fair old argument with one eBay seller over a returned faulty item. Got my original PayPal payment (goods and postage) back but had to pay to return the item myself. After drawn out "discussions" and getting nowhere with the seller, eBay themselves to their credit, refunded my return postage.

Did you have to pay the return postage for the faulty chuck?

Martin, indeed but in this case it isn't a case of physically comparing items while both are visible but rather holding one image in memory and comparing it with similar visible item. I'm sure it's something we all do subconsciously all the time. It just surprised me how small a difference can be noticed.

I made a small (75mm x 13mm) brass flywheel both faces to be identical but later noticed I had made a mistake. The rim on one side was 8mm wide but 7.95mm on the other. I was quite surprised that this small discrepancy was noticeable to me by eye considering you can't see both at once as they are on opposite faces of the wheel.

So how small difference can the human eye/brain discriminate?

I bought my Micromot BFW 40/E from Voelkner in Germany even with postage to UK I saved about 30 quid.

I have both the Dremel and a Micromot BFW 40/E. The Dremel, although useful for some jobs, is a toy in comparison.
