Thread: Myford Oiling - Wanner 300-1 |

When I acquired my S7 it can without a oil gun I purchased an alternative to the Wanner gun and found it totally useless I then got a Wanner off ebay and it works fine but I will admit on a couple of nipples I find a piece of kitchen roll helps make a better seal. H

One of the problems with the small combination spanners is that the actual thickness of the "ring" can only be reduced so far and becomes disproportional to the size of the hole. This means that you often can't slip the ring over the nut/bolt as the distance from an adjoining edge is often too small... Although I have got nearly a full set of BA ring spanners, if I'm being honest with myself box spanners are far more useful for that very reason. If I were starting from scratch it would just be box spanners and open end laser cut spanners. They may not feel as nice as forged spanners, but from an access point of view there is no contest. Brian Brian I have to agree with you about box spanner being preferred to ring I have good number of BA spanners both OE and ring but I have just purchased a second set of box spanners I have just had minor surgery on my left hand for carpal tunnel and my right hand is just as bad so having no feeling in my fingers I find them very useful for holding the nut whilst starting it on the thread H |

Can't remember at the moment (senior moment) but awhile back may have been ebay I purchased the 'tee' section in a strip around 10" long so it didn't take long to drill, tap and cut them up H |

Single handed 'pun intended' had a closer look a the motor it looks like it's a special the mounting bracket is spot welded to the motor case and the shaft has been turned down for 0.625 to 14mm ! A quick check on the website 'not done it yet' suggested put's the motor at frame 56, I was looking to uprate the motor but as Neil pointed out a motor is nearly the cost of a new drill press so for now when hand allows I think I'll look at changing the bearings. Hi Sean the inverter in most cases can be controlled by it's front panel, normally you would only need to get a 'pot' if you want to control the speed remotely H |

Comments; 1) Glad that, at long last, Brian has most of the problems behind him 2) He has learned a lot on the way. 3) He already knows this, that he has a LOT for which to thank Hopper. (Who is a shining example to us all). 4) All of Hopper's pictures have appeared as a message from Photobucket to update my profile for remote hosting. (Doesn't happen with anyone else's, or on other threads, so what is the solution, since I have no knowledge of Photobucket?) Finally, Good on yer, Hopper, and Enjoy yourself Brian! Howard Photobucket are demanding money in order to allow you to use your photos on 3rd party site many forums are now having a problem with this photos being replaced with the image below, pure blackmail don't pay if no one pays to upgrade there account then at least they will have to come up with a cheaper solution alternatively move to a rival photo hosting company H

Thread: Wiring Newman motor on Myford ML7 |

Max another thing to remember is that you need to let the motor stop or at least until you hear the centrifugal switch drop out before reversing the direction other wise it will continue to run the same way. H |
