Depending on the size of the larger chuck you may also like to consider using a six sided collet block if you need to hold round stock...
lists two different nuts. which is better one to have? |

need to make water feature for a viv i am building. planning on using sandstone but whats best way to drill it? assume a normal masonry bit no good? google just throws up drilling big bits, piece i will be using is only 1.5" thick and will then be siliconed to base piece which will have small drain hole in it to allow water to drain back into sump. |

thanks for replies. all my grinders are in storage since lost workshop so couldn't look. was looking at article in MEW about fitting drill chuck to bench grinder and brain started thinking about it. .
... Please reconsider. The rotational speed is much higher than typical bench grinder. Unless you could safely slow the machine right down [which is doubtful] ... it wpould be an 'an accident waiting to happen'. MichaelG. not planning on planning on it. was just one of those thoughts that pop into your about way something works thats all.

not that far then i'm near leeds. two good places are reptillia in osset and tyrannosaurus pets in leeds. |

i used to build my own vivs from marine ply and used sealant for aquariums for edges. then varnish it can't remember name of it now but any decent reptils shop will tell you it. we also used to get sheets of plastic and fit that into base and up sides to create waterproof section especially good when using bio substrate. many happy trips out to woods looking for branches and logs to hollow out for hides. thinking of getting back into it. go on RFUK used to be brilliant site but not been on in few years. where are you?

Thread: converting radial arm saw |
27/01/2017 07:29:32 |
planning on building fabrication bench using 1/2" x 8" steel slats drilled to take various jigs. to buy them cut to length is a no go due to cost. was wondering if could get metal cutting blade to fit my B&Q radial arm saw and use that by taking several light cuts each time? if so where is best place to get blade? |
