Been following British words for a while, some give Me trepidation when I type them in to find the definition. Suspenders? Sounds harmless. Would not type "fairy liquid" in over here. Probably make My few hairs stand on end. I would never know it's a common language. |

Would the gear in Gary's picture be energy wise or a high friction waster?

Thread: Rotary broaching |
05/07/2023 19:06:15 |
We used one on a medium size turret lathe, name escapes Me. We broached 3/8" hex 3/8" deep in 17-4 SS. It took all the grunt the machine had taking 45 seconds to a full minute to go that deep. Don't remember the name, the bar capacity was around 1" and tool shanks were 1". Cannot find a picture. Occasionally when the tool went dull, the machine would pull the tool end off when backing out. Not a real beast but not shabby either. |

It is better to have the broach partially start in the part, if the cut is long or too hard it may be all the cut the broach wants to take on the first pass. |

Thread: Scams |

I checked My credit report 3-4 years ago and found out I had bought 3- 3d printers about 2000 miles away. One very quick call and the charges were removed. The credit card company ate the charges of $21,000+. It took 3-4 years to get the 5 ficticious house addresses removed off the reports. Scam evidentally started at My Daughters apartment complex where Someone picked up the CC number while it was in My wallet. |

It is on the left wheel on the Wiki picture. Edited By mark costello 1 on 11/05/2023 18:44:59 |

As I look at train video's on YT, I notice a piece of linkage on what appears to be the main connecting rod. It is on the small end and rotates around a shaft at the end of the main rod. Why is it needed and what does it do? |
Thread: Bright steel |

One thing that I have found to work extremely well in 304SS is I tried pure Molly Dee in engine assembly lube. It worked very well. Almost like tapping regular steel. You know how when hand tapping something hard to tap and You stop and bread the chip and it starts cutting again with a little crack? With the assembly lube there is no little crack and You can just continue on. Suprised Me. |

Thread: Wheel Dresser |
12/04/2023 17:22:22 |
The above dresser will rip much of the wheel off, useful when removing grroves etc. The dressing sticks and diamond dressers are more finesse, useful for touch ups. They also seem to make the wheel make the part hotter. Not as free cutting.. Horses for courses. |

Across the pond We have had at least 2 kinds of ATF, one Ford and one Chevy(naturally). It had to do with the type of clutches the transmissions used. Now a days probably every car maker has their own formula, of which Theirs is best. |
