Don’t get me wrong I’m not dissatisfied with what is included but more disappointed that what I thought was included was not - I still say that the advert is very misleading

If you go to the home page and click on the heading of the advert for the mag you will get the full ? Accurate ? details |

How about this “copy and paste” from the advert You can pre-order 25 Years of MEW HERE (note that the preview info was written before publication, the sample pages below give an accurate picture of the content). Accurate Picture !!! NOT SUBJECT TO CHANGE - |

I was not expecting 10 new articles from contributors but was expecting as stated on the front cover under the separation line of Harold Hall’s article “ myhobbystore inside this issue Full Details and Plans for Ten Classic Designs (which included thumprints of two hobby store plans) “ |
09/05/2015 09:21:02 |
Hi Neil - Yes I agree but how many of those are by myhobbystore . The advert indicates that the store has ten classic designs and plans INSIDE THIS ISSUE (pics. of the plans are overlapping the “ inside this issue” block) which seems to refer to the said plans. The 10 articles you refer to are by contributors in past magazines of which I have copies and have in fact made some of the items. Still |

This is a copy of the review I posted on the MyHobby Store review site after receiving my copy of the 25 years magazine (ordered direct from them) As you may conclude I am not overly happy with the way the product was advertised (Misrepresentation comes to mind) [On the cover it shows “Details and Plans for ten classic designs” INSIDE THIS ISSUE I was expecting copies of plans/and details to be included within the publication ] I am expecting my review will be posted out of the magazine site - also possibly this post |

Thread: Using 3D prints for casting |
18/02/2015 09:45:39 |
I have been experimenting with direct extrusion of wax but the problems i have encountered have been trying to cool (solidify) the wax quick enough after the hothead so as to retain its shape and not “sag” - At the moment the extruder is hand worked as the full printer is not completed. - A fellow experimenter is developing the idea of producing 3d printed (plastic) moulds into which wax can be injected for lost wax casting - this can become complicated if there are a lot of undercuts. |
Thread: Have you ever considered getting a 3D printer? |
18/02/2015 09:01:25 |
Yes - Am in the progress of building one from scratch - using redundant computer, scanner and printer parts for power supply, motors and linear drives. The basic design thoughts originated in the U.S. but other than power supply are the same over here (U.K.). The hot head is machined from brass and the heating element is available commercially on ebay as is all the driver boards - Will post more details later

Thread: Poblems saving IGS Files inTurbocad Pro Platinum |
05/02/2015 16:54:11 |
Hi - One of the problems with Turbocad is the if you us a Professional programme to draw the original and then update to Platinum of a higher number (more recent issue), then it is more than likely that the new programme will not read all the old machine instructions (code) as the Platinum usually has less inbuilt functions ( one of which is loading, reading and saving certain 3D formats) - Ive had similar problems. [ Turbocad user for well over 20 years - since Issue 3 Professional ] |

Thread: Waterproofing a Roof? |
18/01/2015 09:37:51 |
I think you are in the hands of the Local Authority as to what can be done - Yes there are numerous Tar and or Silicon based liquid preparations that are readily available and applied to the outer face of the sheeting to a water repellent surface, but this does not stop any condensation drips from forming. One way to stop the condensation is to spray the underside of the roof with an expanding foam compound (Unfortunately costly and specialist applied), again many firms regularly advertise this product. How about considering a good quality protection (waterproof) tailor made if required to fit over the car when the inclement weather is about |
