![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | I'm sure that the cold weather is keeping a few of you in the armchair this afternoon so to keep you from dropping off after lunch this is a video showing the pattern making, moulding and casting of a Wright Brothers Model B crankcase from one of their early aircraft that was posted by Mike Remus editor of MEB mag. 436 forum posts 5 photos | How did they design that crankcase? Did they free hand the core structure first then add the wall thickness to it. Its easy to draw a cross section, but before CAD, how to transform this around 180 degrees? Frank |
