I'd take two if you don't mind, they look like blacksmiths hot work files to me.

Anybody know how I can get it to either shut down or switch off. Yesterday I uploaded windows 10. Today I went to start up my laptop and it is still trying to shut down from yesterday?

I am at a loss

Hold down the power button for a few seconds.

Thread: Any air experts? air ammeter needed

What about a bit of uv dye put into the airline, same method as aircon leaks in cars? Hell of a lot cheaper than fancy detectors, 20 quid would buy the dye and torch.

I also have a r-tech tig and a plasma cutter and they are very good units for the cost, with very helpful staff.

Thread: Super Sterling Engine
11/03/2015 09:02:47

That is a pretty thing, are the plans available for a nosey?. I made something along these lines a few years back but it used tec plates and a small electric motor. Worked a treat on the stove top.

Today I fitted a taper roller bearings to my sc4 lathe, to my surprise it had a descent bearing in the front but the back one was some no name standard thing. All went too easy, still waiting for some thing to fly off. I will give a shout to simplybearings.co.uk they had the bearings in stock and arrived next day. 25 quid well spent.

Have you checked if the brushes have simply worn out? Are you certain the armature is u/s?

Its not that old, done maybe 2 hours work in its time. Brushes are like new. I opened it up and can see the burn on it, just not my day.

Today I burned out my nice maktia grinder while building a engine crane I've been working on, bugger. And no I wasn't giving it what for just light cutting. Still at least with them I can get a new armature for it for 12 quid.

Hi all. Just won a hardly used boxford g200 tool and cutter grinder on ebay for 300 quid smiley and I'm having problems finding any info on this machine. Checked lathes.co.uk etc but they don't even list it. Anyone got a manual or any tips/experience with this machine. I don't think theres any of the accessories with it so any help as to what it should have would be great, thanks Mark.

Hmm well that's something to think about. I'll take a look at the Worden. The quorn is a very pretty machine when finished but you guys opinions carries some weight in my book. Thanks.

Thanks Lars, that's just what I needed.

08/05/2014 07:44:38

Hi all, I've been think of building a quorn tool grinder for awhile now but seen to be having problems getting castings for it. There is a set on ebay but I have no idea of the price of a set of castings for it. Any one who roughly how much a new set goes for and where I might get them that's not in the US. Thanks for any help, Mark.
