Hi all,

Recently I got some plans for a pulse jet engine from JohnTom.com named "Pulso #1". It was a quicky engine to build, just need to get spring steel for the reed valve.

Well here's some pics:

Have you run it yet?

I remember doing a lab test as a student on one with a 3" diameter tail pipe. It ran at about 100Hz. The whole thing glowed bright red, made a horrendous noise and resonated one's body cavity. Most unpleasant.

Dont run it for more than 10 seconds in a static state otherwise you will burn out the flap valve, these things are designed to run with a flow of cold air into the intake, I bought one to make into a land speed record car after a while it dawned on me that about 5 secs after letting it go it would have travelled too far away to be seen or be controlled so I sold it but the noise is memorable.
