I was wondering if anyone knows whether Pro Machine Tools are still in business?

I see that their advert is still active on this site, but they no longer seem to respond to emails.

During January this year I ordered and paid for some lathe accessories to be sent to me in Canada. The order was delivered promptly but incomplete; one of the items was on backorder as it was out of stock.

In early April as I had still not received the item, I emailed them to find out when I could expect it and was informed that they expected to have back in stock within the next week.

Still not having received the item I have unsuccessfully tried to contact them via email a number times during the last few weeks, I have also tried the "contact us" form on their web site to no avail. Unfortunately 11 months later it is too late to file a PayPal dispute, so it seems that I am out of luck.

Ordered and sent some stuff to Canada a month or two ago; worked fine.

(spares for an Emco Compact-8, absolutely no problems with the service)

Hi Gray,

Thanks for the reply. I do realise that Emco accessories can take some time, hence my patience to date. However as the item was supposedly in stock when I ordered it, and as I no longer require it 11 months later, I have been trying to cancel the order. Instead requesting a different item or a refund. Some sign of life from them would be encouraging.

Its irrelevant that they have not replied recently. If you ordered and paid for something 11 months ago and its never arrived they are obviously not a company woth dealing with.

Can you send some form of registered communication and insist they give you a full and immediate refund?

Somehow you will be able to get the bits (even Emco) from another source.

Hi Clive,

I know it's really annoying when something like this happens. I can't understand it though, as the times I've dealt with them he's been professional in every way, even down to the beautiful invoice paper!

I don't know the owner personally, but I doubt very much he'll keep your money without delivering the goods. It's hard to think of a reason for what's gone on though???

I think he deserves Ian's suggestion, it might just remind him that he's not acted too well.

Hope you get sorted, Mike.

I am happy to say that this has now been resolved. Thanks Gray.

Thanks also to chris J for offering to contact Pro Machine on my behalf, fortunately that will not be necessary.

I have always had excellent service from Pro Machine in the past, and as what appears to have been an oversight on their part has now been resloved, I would happily use them again in the future.

Clive
