Hi.

Just wondering if there is anybody near me, Chard, Ilminster, Honiton area.

There are pictures of some of my workshop in my galleries. I have to finish my Late Fathers 2" Burrell Gold Medal Engine and although I helped Dad with it and I now have his equipment and more, I sometimes get stuck and it would be great to have someone close to bounce things off.

I have knowledge though would be classed as a beginner and am NOT going to be in touch "every 5 minutes", just looking for a someone with a similar interest "close-by".

I have looked at what ME clubs/societies are close by, but am unable to attend regular meetings and one or two seem a bit "stiff and formal".

Thanks

David

Hi,

I live not far from Chard, I will send you a private e-mail, if I can work out how to do it!

Hi

Same question; I live in Marton Middlesbrough & am completing garage conversion to ME. Looking to concentrate on small scale steam engines. Anyone in the area that has similar setup & interests would like to pal up for bouncing ideas.PM me if interested.

George

Their site isn't fully working yet but it is one way to find your local club. You can also google model engineering and it will probably provide links. Even if there isn;t a club right on your doorstep they probably have members who are.

I found clubs near both of you.

Remember you don't have to have built something to go and chat to them.

Try the BSMEE web site in the links section it lists almost every ME club in the world.

Hi Chris H.

I have sent you a PM

Thanks everybody else, Seem to be a bit out in the sticks here and the couple that are within 30 miles or so seem a bit "niche" specific.

Am contacting a couple anyway, will hopefully get a couple of good contacts.

Thanks

David,

Just because a club appears to be 'niche' doesn't mean all the members are narrowly focused on only one topic. Tiverton, Taunton & Yeovil all cater for just about everything modelling. You must get along to the Taunton show next year.
