What magnificent engines these are Ramon. I assume the cylinder heads are anodised and was just wondering if you did the anodising yourself. I have tried anodising in the past with limited success but would love to try it again. If you did it yourself I may have some more questions to ask.

Douglas, have a look at Ramons post that accompanies these photos, hopefully the anodising article will be in ME shortly.

Hi Douglas, thank you for your kind comment. Yes the anodising was carried out at home using the equipment basically described in the Racer thread as here -

The article is a more an account of the trials and tribulations of my attempts covering what didn't as well as what did work rather than an in depth 'how to do it' feature though obviously it covers that to a sufficient degree enough to enable someone to do like wise.

Obviously it would not be fair to deal with it too much at this stage - perhaps David could give some idea of potential publication date which hopefully for yourself and one or two others won't be too long.wink 2

Jason - Have PM'd you on HMEM

Hi Ramon,

did you use 'proper' anodising dye to get this result?

Regards

Terry

Ah patience Terry - and all will be revealed

Actually it was writing ink but it's all explained in detail in said article hopefully coming soon to a magazine near youwink

To be fair to David - he was going to put it in MEW but as it's written as a follow up to the Racer article I asked if it could go in ME, hence the delay - my fault then crook

Regards - Ramon

Thanks for that Ramon, I will have a good read of the article when published in ME and have another go at anodising. I see you used writing ink which made me wonder if inkjet ink would work. I am now inspired to do a little experimenting so will report any decent results I get.
