627 forum posts 72 photos | I use a 2 morse taper ER25 collet chuck as well as a clair autolock with the same taper in an R8 by using anR8 2mt sleeve .The drawbar perhaps has a different thread mine is smaller so it passes through the adapter and pulls everything together. If the draw bar will not pass through turn out the threaded portion of the R8 adapter. 133 forum posts 6 photos | Thanks for all the replys, It was basically just athought as to wetherI could make more use of the collets I have (bought a full set for the lathe) but as John says If I'm losing a couple of inches then looks like bite the bullet time. Just didn't want to end up with a set for this and a set for that. Thanks agin Bob |

3681 forum posts 70 photos | Just one other thing, R8 collets (yes I have some) are dead size, where as the ER Series are usable over a range, but then I am not limited with a restricted daylight height table to quill! |
