Thread: Headstock raising block, How to make? (accurately) |
05/08/2013 14:55:55 |
How about mounting the block so that where you want the vee is horizontal put your cutter in and cut a vee groove on one side then move the table across and put another vee groove on the opposite side. So now you have your two grooves opposite one another ( both female ) mount a round bar of the appropriate dia, in one groove to become the male ( held in by socket head screws ) Maybe not what you were after but it would work

Thread: Quality R8 Drill Chuck Recommendarion |
12/01/2013 20:52:31 |
Hi there I have used both keyed and keyless chucks on my bridgeport, at present am using a keyless from RDG tools. For ease of use the keyless is excelent for gripping even a 25mm dia (turned down shank to 13mm) but if you want to use a tap in them then when you reverse turn the chuck will release. What I do now for tapping is to use a small centre in the chuck to line up with the tap holder to which I have put a centre hole in then tap by hand using the tap holder.

Thread: Chuck for Rotary Table |

Hi Terry I would start with the 4 jaw as you can clock round stuff as well as holding odd shapes The only draw back is the constant clocking, but then a lot of new 3 jaw chucks need the odd tweek

Thread: New "must see" technology |
17/06/2012 12:30:58 |
Forget 3D and go fast forward to full hollgraphic projection then you won't need the glasses. Got to ask the question: we used to make stuff using only 2D drawings now it seems everybody wants 3D drawings. Does it make the final product better or is it just a visual thing. I think they call it progress Paul |
