Just bought one of those "Hardened Precision Screwless Vise" and sure enough it does what it says on the tin.

However its a bit fifddly to use with the cross pin, allen key etc and it looks the sort of thing that could be improved especially by the members of this forum so the question is has anyone done any work on this?

Did a search but did not find anything on the forums.

Hi Peter,
As I use mine as a secondary vice, held in the K4, I found it beneficial to throw away the little pin and replace it with one that goes all the way from one side to t'other. I found it really annoying slackening the vice and then having to find the right groove again, the long pin solves this completely.

I made one of these. Of all my homebrew tools, it was the biggest disappointment - after a week or so it was twisted badly, perhaps something to do with drilling all those holes without normalising the steel.
