8 forum posts 3 photos | Hi I would appreciate some help with a problem with my clark 300m lathe, When I started to turn a piece of metal this evening at quite a low speed a rumbling sound came from the chuck area and the chuck almost stalled setting the lathe at a very slow speed I was able to hold the stock bar in the chuck and stop the chuck moving but there was still a rattling noise coming from the headstock as if a gear or belt was slipping.. Before I have to strip the headstock I was wondering if anyone had any ideas what this might be. Thanks in anticipation. Trevor. |

A related problem I had was the plastic key in the middle of the toothed pulley stripped. I hand filed a groove to replace it and fitted a metal key. Neil |
