Hi,

Please advise - can I use EN1A F/C steel for the shafts on my 1.1/2" Allchin. One  shaft of course has splines, however, it will be more a thing of beauty (I hope) than a work horse.  Your comments please

Regards
Bob.

Should be fine on an engine of that size particularly if its not getting a lot of use.

But you won't be surface grinding or heat treating any of the shafts so it's all a bit irrelevant and hopefully you won't be running at several thousand rpm like a CNC machine would!!
