a test to try adding pictures from a remote location (Photobox)

![]() 1946 forum posts 179 photos | I have usually added pictures via an album, but now I find that I can add them to posts from a remote location. So I am trying this from photographs located in PhotoBox. The first is of a lump of old steel of unknown provenance that I hacked from a larger piece using a hacksaw which has a file handle rather than a pistol grip which I found when clearing out my mothers effects after her death. It had belonged to my grandfather I believe. I actually found it easier to use than a =more modern pistol grip type hacksaw and to my surprise I cut faster, more accurately and with far less effort than I expected. Just goes to show! |

![]() 1946 forum posts 179 photos | The pictures did not upload to the post what am I doing wrong? I took the urls from the actual picture site and pasted them into the post using the 'insert image' icon at the top of the message box. I am obviously doing something wrong, but what? ![]() Terry |

![]() 1655 forum posts 617 photos | Hi Terry,
I can only repeat what someone helped me with when I was faced with the same problem.
My pics are in Picasa (up loaded to web albums)
Open the pic and right click on it.
Menu comes up - click on properties
Another smaller menu comes up with URL right click and select Select All. URL should be highlighted.
Right click again and select copy.
Close and paste into insert image box and select insert
There may be an easier way but that's how I get it done
Hope this helps - BTW Rivers?
regards - Ramon |

As far as I can see you are not doing anything wrong. The same method works fine with my photobucket hosted images but I tried it with one of yours from photobox and it wont work.
Edit Just noticed that the urls do not end in an image format eg .jpg this may be the reason.
Jason

![]() 1946 forum posts 179 photos | Thanks guys, especially Jason for noticing the lack of .jpg. I looked back at Photobox and right clicked on the image and copied the 'image location', copied it and pasted this into the 'image URL' box on the post menu. It appears to have worked. Here are the two images mentioned above: Rough cut piece of steel- The above is much clearer in Photobox Final machining on steel above- |

![]() 1181 forum posts 669 photos | Test. No luck. iPad 3. Went through the process of selecting a photo, via the camera icon above, as described in a number of posts, but nothing appears to happen when I press, not click, the green OK button. Oops. Didn't register that this thread is about photos on external sites. Hanging head. Geoff - This is when I'm tempted to hurl something, but later to regret.
