33 forum posts | dear All, I seem to remember reading an article on using Lazer pointers to align milling machine heads I have found the one in mew no79 but this is not the one I remember as it uses a lazer from maplin whilst I seem to remember one using a cheap hand held pointer and modifying the hole -is my memory playing tricks thanks Ian |

Often you can buy a laser level from a pound shop. This attached to the side of the mill column and aligned to a mark on the ceiling provides an accurate aligning point for the mill head.
As a by product it shows the stability of the mill when running |

33 forum posts | Thanks for the information -this all came about when I was tidting the work shop and found a laser pointer I had started to modify and neverr finished -always the case- will now try and finish the job-ian |
