2 forum posts | I am hoping that someone can give me some advice. My Father-in-Law passed away recently, and I have been asked to sell his Hobbymat Universal Lathe and Milling Machine plus several boxes of machine tools, collets, gears etc. I know very little about this item, but I remember he said that he bought it new and had only used it the week he bought it. It has been sitting next to the central heating boiler in his garage ever since - I would guess 30-odd years, but I don't really know. I need to sell it, as I don't have room or use for it. I have tried searching the web to get an idea of value, but I can't really get any idea. I have two questions:
Any advice would be much appreciated.. |

39 forum posts | Hi yes it has value, almost everything does to someone, You can get an estimate of the value of what you have to dispose of by posting pictures on this site or by contacting your nearest local model engineering group.
Please try to avoid traders until you have accumulated more information but also remember they need to make a living EDIT There is this thread https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/news/article/disposing-of-a-workshop/22007 George Edited By george baker 1 on 29/07/2023 15:12:47 |

550 forum posts 77 photos | They seem to fetch around £500-600 on ebay for an average one with the milling head. Expect a bit more if yours is basically unused. 🙂 |

2 forum posts | Thank you, everyone. Your advice has been very helpful. I didn't realise I could post it here, and I will also give the dreaded e-bay a try and see what happens. Thanks again. |
