National lottery card change

I'm going mad trying to change an expired lottery debit card number.

The website just takes you round in circles, can't change my card to a current one because I have funds in it and can't withdraw funds because my card has expired!!

Help page just tells me to do what I have been trying to do.

Anyone had this problem.

I have never even contemplated setting-up an account … but I had a quick look, and found this:

1. is that your scenario ?
2. did they contact you ?
3. have you been asked to contact their Customer Care Team ?
4. … if not, why not, That is the question !!

Thanks Michael, yes went through all that and no had no contact other than a pop up when I log in saying my card has expired, click on edit to change to another card and that's when you start the merry go round.

Do they offer contact details for the Customer Care Team, or can it only be accessed by invitation ?

Further to Michael's suggestions, the Help page also mentions:

Why am I having difficulty adding, using or changing my debit card?

There could be a number of reasons why you are unable to change your debit card:

You have tickets still to be entered into draws
You have an unfinished Instant Win Game(s)
The balance in your account is too high
You have recently changed your debit card
You have an unclaimed prize waiting to be paid to your debit card

Suggestion: Please access your National Lottery account to check if any of the above may apply and complete any required actions (e.g. finishing an Instant Win Game or withdrawing funds) before trying again. If you still require help, you can contact us on 0333 234 44 33.

Alternatively, if you have checked the above suggestions and you are still unable to complete the action, it may be any of the following reasons unrelated to your National Lottery account:

Some new debit cards come with a gambling block set as default; please check with your bank to see if this has been applied to your debit card
The card you wish to add is a credit card
The card you wish to add is a business credit or debit card
The debit card you wish to add is being used on another person’s account

Suggestion: Please try a different personal debit card or contact your bank directly to resolve the issue.

Might simply be easier and save further problems with the firm, just to end your card agreement, and if you wish to still play, buy the tickets directly, in the shop.

(I gave up on it after the greedy blighters owning it - a Canadian trade-union - doubled the stake and increased the 6-from range from 49 to 50.... so multiplying the existing, already enormous, odds by 50.

I read somewhere if you buy a ticket on Monday you've more chance of dying before Saturday than winning

If you buy on Thurs/Fri the odds swing in your favour

National lottery is a good wheeze for getting the not well off to pay for the hobbies of the rich. Stop buying tickets and donate the money direct to really worthy causes, not the Royal Opera House

Thanks for replies guys, tried all suggestions but just takes you round in a circle.

I only do it once in a while to be honest in the hope I may win enough to help my kids with affording to buy a home.

Glad I'm not in that postion now, depending where you live of course but the likelyhood of being able to save enough deposit is not good if you are paying rent at the same time and even then the typical 4x salary (I understand) won't buy you much unless you are in higher end of a five figure salary. Down here in Someret prices are generally quite high and Bristol where my youngest son lives, well you are looking at the new London.
