Does anyone know what this micrometer measures?

It's a Moore & Wright No 973 3T,

and says 1/16" - ½" on the anvil

You have a very useful measuring instrument there, Simon

Give it a bit of a tidy-up and find something suitable to store it in

… it looks like it’s been rattling around in the bottom of someone’s toolbox

P.S. __ I’ve just had a look at your Albums … that ‘precision micrometer’ is a beauty !
