brass hammer 1.jpgThe attached photos are of a Brass Hammer that I was given many years ago. It never got used because it was well packaged and so shiny that I never felt like putting a mark on it and it was a long time before I discovered that the end could be removed to reveal two small screwdrivers which have seen more use than the Hammer.brass hammer 01.jpg

I got a lump for less than a tenner from ebay last month and just like the above it's like a beautifully made piece of art you can touch

It is a bit annoying because these items were made to be used in anger to do amazing tasks

Found the patent for it too, from 1948

That is very neat! And would be a wonderful beginner's lathe project to make one, concealed screwdrivers and all.
