Hi all

I need a 100mm diameter x 30mm height piece of mild steel for making a flywheel for my Webster build. I ordered it from steelcitygav on Ebay but after waiting 3 weeks for delivery I was told it was lost. He offered me a refund but did not offer to send a replacement out so I assumed it was out of stock.

Do you know where else I may purchase it please?

many thanks

Rapid Metals £9.40 plus all the usual. Or £8.40 for cast iron

Could you use a piece of 4" bright mild steel? If so MaccModels sell rods in lengths of 1", 2" and so on.

I've found M-Machine Metals pretty good for that kind of stuff, they often have big slices of CI or steel at reasonable prices, it's pot-luck what's in their Ebay store, but there's usually something suitable..

M-Machine Ebay store

..or get contact details from their website and call them

M-Machine Metals Darlington

No connection with this company, but have usually found something useable in their listings and had reliable service.

.. if you don't mind CI their GR17 is very 'clean' and nice to machine..
