Does anyone know if the different length spindles on Clarkson grinders is a complete different spindle or an add on piece?

I'm thinking of using the spindle head on my Union grinder as Clarksons are often sold as parts, but need to know which spindle type to look for if they're two different types.

I'm pretty sure they are screw on extension pieces. I think I have one somewhere, but have never tried it.

My understanding is that the standard spindle can be extended by a standard part ie the extension piece ! I have one of these machines with this part. Noel.

Yes, it's a screw on extension; I've made several more to quickly swap wheels without having to re-mount them on the spindle. Obviously that doesn't help if you need to use something on a short spindle projection.
Not in the workshop now, but I think ½" BSF Left Hand

Thank you all, now I know it's an additional part I can keep my eye for either type if one becomes available.
