When is a guarantee not a guarantee - when BG make one

152 forum posts 6 photos | I was with Peoples Energy when they went bump. I was automatically transferred to British Gas. BG sent me an e-mail on 23rd October 21 with the new tariff which although 50% higher than Peoples Energy I had to accept. In the e-mail from them, it states that the new price was "Price guaranteed until 30th June 2022". I have now just received an e-mail from them stating the prices are going up on 1st April 2022. Again another 50% increase. Needless to say, I have raised a complaint with BG, I wonder how they will explain this. Steve

![]() 1688 forum posts 16 photos | Many years ago I was a BG customer, not anymore and I wouldn’t trust them, my personal opinion is they are akin to a cowboy outfit and their technical abilities in respect of repairs leaves a lot to be desired, this is based on a number of years experience as a customer of theirs. I am currently with Shell Energy, been with them since they took over First Utility about three years ago, so far no problems but waiting with bated breath when my three year fixed price contract expires at the end of June, expecting a huge increase in charges. 869 forum posts | Apart from the occasional telephone call from a girl from 'BG' telling me I cannot service my own 30 year old boiler because I'm not CORGI approved , no problem with BGas. Last gas bill for Feb. showed 3.09p/KWh , six times less than 'electric ' equivalent 24p/KWh from EON.. |

Flowgas are the worst company I have ever dealt with, they took over my MSF Gas account who were brilliant. As soon as my contract has finished I'll be switching. |

Steve Seems to me these 'fly by night' engery companies have dropped everyonr in it, those of us who was not with these failed companies are paying £65 towards mess left by them H

5307 forum posts 83 photos | My local council bought a half share in an energy company for £18 million, then lent it another £20 million. Guess what, it's gone bust, so local council tax payers are down £38 million They also paid £30 million for a 1/3 share in a bank, whose value has dropped by half, so another £15 million loss. These combined come to £324 for every man woman and child in the town. Will this affect the bonusses received by the higher ups in the council admin? Don't be silly |
