3630 forum posts 128 photos | Gah! Looked at the catalogue. That's fifteen minutes of life I'll never get back. Could have saved a whole lot of time and trouble by rolling most of the stuff into Lot 203 "Scrap Heap". The little Richmond Mill at lot 506 looks interesting if its only rusty rather than knackered. Obviously left by a "Collector". Further proof that auctioneers haven't a clue about presentation, catalogue arrangement or any intention of getting the best prices for the sellers. Bit more care would have made thing much more attractive. Dumping books on the path to photograph. Really. Way back I had a bit to do with Sothebys and was not impressed. All mouth, no trousers with barest glimmerings of useful intellect or understanding. Clive |
