got this chuck with my lathe, no collets came with it & I’d like to start collecting them.

what are your thoughts? Burnerd multisize? Thats my guess so far lol.

EC2-EC13 ?
there are no markings or designations anywhere on the chuck at all, it is fitted with D1-3 mount for a colchester bantam.

or … maybe its NOT a collet chuck & im barking up the wrong tree ?

Looks like your EC2 range collet choice is correct, check the dimensions of your chuck taper to compare with collet data to confirm.

Cheers Emgee, what are you basing your assumption on? Do you have an EC chuck? Is it just the general look of it ?

Glad your guess agrees with mine, hopefully these pictures stay on as i messed it up first time like a numpty lol.

hopefully i’ll get a few more agreeing with you, i’ll start looking around to buy the collets then.

thanks again for your response.

Wow, thank you Mr Parkin, that does indeed look like mine … guess i was nervous as there are no designation, markings, makers mark or stamp … nothing !

does yours have anything written on it ?

John C was kind enough to suggest i scotchbrite it cleaner & hopefully reveal something, but still nothing lol.

Rotagrip have some info. on the various-sized Burnerd collets in this document:

http://www.rotagriponline.com/datasheets/Pratt/PrattChuckSpares.pdf

Briefly, there was EB, EC and ED. EC is by far the most common and the other sizes are unlikely on D1-3.

Please also read the information here:

https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/today-i-acquired.50192/page-1490

concerning the closing ring of early models needing modification to accept 'E'-series collets.
