All,

I've got a small bench mounted belt sander that takes 685mm x 50mm belts.

I got some replacement belts from somewhere, but the joint is a bump, and it makes it pretty much impossible - even dangerous - to use.

Can anyone recommend a belt supplier (looking for #180 or "medium" grits) for this specific size of belt please?

Thanks!

I buy belts for my linisher from this (established, midlands-based), UK business via there Ebay shop - just checked and they have the size you asked for in Alox, Zirconia, Ceramic, and Silicon Carbide, in various grits 24 - 500.

I see that they will also make belts to size if required.

They use quality abrasive belting with a nice flat oblique join.

I don't have any connection with the company other than as a very satisfied customer.

Try AbTec. They are helpful and list your belt size in a variety of grits for different materials, wood, metals, ceramics, glass etc.

Hi, I got my belts by mail from Reid Timber in Glasgow. They were copies for Sorby Proedge sharpening system. There is a join but minimal and no problem. Good price and lasting well.

I got some #180 grit belts from here, and they seem to work fine. Thanks.
