Hello again..... I think I have made some headway myself. Appears it may be an oiler for a LOCOMOTIVE TRAIN, as CANON did something like this too ............................ but not sure and .................................. have not found anything about the name ABBEY OILER

To avoid too many ‘false starts’ … I note that the question has been aired elsewhere: **LINK**

Also on the woodworking forum.

But, fair enough, I think the guy is casting his net wide, in the hope of

getting some info.

Though given the time difference from Canada, likely to be well down the list by the time they revisit the site.sad

What was the Question? I can only see a request regarding the photos.

I think the question was meant to be something along the lines of :

“… does anyone know what, if anything, is special about it ?”

Try searching Graces Guide.

Might be untraceable; oil cans and similar were made by many companies, large and small, and it was common for them to be Brand-named on request. 'Abbey' might be the name of a long gone Ironmonger rather than a make.

Oh well … The Earth has done one full turn, and both threads are still on page_1

Presumably not that important after all.

Yes, Jason … that is pertinent to my point:

“both threads are still on page_1” of the forum
