Hello,

I just joined this forum. I have always been interested in model engineering. I have been a machinist or taught machine shop for the past 25 years or so.

There's not much interest in model engineering around here so I have to rely on books and the internet to keep up with the latest.

I also dabble with mechanical watch repair and ham radio (Callsign: KX4VI)

Hello Greg & welcome to the forum. Amazing , it does not matter how far away you are with the Internet.

Steve.

Welcome, Greg you will find lots of model enthusiasts on this forum. Only yesterday, we had a new member from Texas, Alin, who is a welder. You would also find some model makers on the "Home Shop Machinist " forum, if you are not already a member.

Thank you all for the welcome. The only thing I have completed is a simple flywheel farm engine designed by Hamilton Upshur. It runs well and I am pleased with it. I built it about 17 years ago. I also started on a Jemma 7 cylinder radial several years back. Completed the crankcase, cylinders, cylinder heads, crankshaft, con rods, pistons, and cams. I don't have a milling machine at home and don't want to use the ones at work since I am tired and ready to come home at the end of the day.

So for now I'll just live vicariously through you guys and contribute where I can, especially in the machining techniques forum.

Greg
