Chronos Wheel Engine

Looking for drawings

Does anyone know where the drawings for the Chronos Wheel Engine might be found ? I have the manual, as well as for the pinion one, but neither cover the drawings. It seems that Eliot Isaacs wrote up making one, but I cannot find that, either.

TIA

Peter

You might have a word with Hemmingway, this old "what's New" says they were going to do one to Isaacs design but not currently listed

I can’t help with drawings for the Chronos machine, but this extract from a letter in the Horological Journal ‘Summer Special’ 1979 might at least set the period for your searching:

A quote from the thread I linked to above:

"The originator of Chronos was Eliot Issacs it was he who designed the wheel cutting engine It was serialised in Clockmaker magazine @ 1991/2 I made one and still use it

Eliot sold Chronos off I think in the eighties"

Poster was Roy Entwhistle.

Just for info.

“A practical magazine published bi-monthly from April/May 1990 (volume 1 issue 1) to April/May 1994 (volume 3 issue 1) when publication ceased.”

Not plans, but a start...

Also http://www.jamesriser.com/Machinery/ChronosPinionMill.pdf

The spelling mistake somewhat impedes the search.

I have just been through my The Clockmaker magazine and can confirm the drawings are included with the articles on Eliot Isaacs ‘Wheel Cutting Engine’. They were published in Vol 1 issues 7 to 12 and Vol 2 issues 1 to 4. The first article includes an explanation of the history of the design and of Chronos and a rider that the drawings are made available only to make one engine, the copyright being held by Eliot Isaacs.
