modifying to gas?

Hi,Thinking of modifying my 3/4" Holden showmans to gas? I ve just started building and Ive found theres no way to drop the fire in case of problems soWas thinking about gas?

Has any one done this how and what do I need please?

Sorry not done a gas conversion myself. I believe there is a company called BIX and probaly others that do gas burners for minitures.

You can find them via Google or there are some YT videos about them. Good luck with the build.

Using gas offers some significant advantages. You can run a boiler indoors and the heat is instantly controllable. Also, no smoke, soot, or bad smells.

I would strongly urge you to telephone Phil at Forest Classics to discuss your requirements.

Holden build instructions for the gas fired version are in the kit - or should have been, as your model, like my version,, was sold as gas fired or coal.

The input is half way up the tender and looks rather ugly so to my mind needs re-thinking.

The gas supply was carried in the living van that he sold for the gas powered version - easy enough to make as is all plywood construction and uses mamod wheels.

The indoor steam guys would probbly be able to help you

I was very impressed with a small show I visited

Edit: there is also spirit powered steam

There's deffo an active market out there
